Program for Weight Training

A program for weight training can be for different reasons (getting fit, losing weight, building muscles, etc). If you're new to weight lifting, you need to seek advice (medical and training) before you embark on a program that is rigorous. You could seriously hurt yourself if you start off to fast. Take it in easy step increments in the beginning and work up to the level you seek.

A lot of individuals are using weight training today as a supplement to losing weight. If you are an overweight person, it is a good idea to start eating less food in conjunction with exercise. The exercise can be varied (walking, jogging, weight lifting, calisthenics, and the list goes on) in a singular or multiple fashion. Personally, I believe a person should engage in multiple types of exercise to reduce the boredom of a single method plus exercise multiple parts of the body. Unless your doctor rules it out, try using weight training in conjunction with walking/jogging and reducing your food intake and see if it's effective on you. If not, try other combinations.

You need to be disciplined in order for weight training to be effective. Use the services of a weight lifting trainer to get yourself on the right track. Add different weight lifting exercises to your plan as time increases. Make certain you perform the exercises that take weight off your body. This type of exercise is called cardio and includes the previous mentioned activities like jogging, walking, aerobics, sports and exercise machines.

Prostate Cancer Considerations

Are you a male over the age of 65? Did you know that over 70% of the prostate cancer cases that have been diagnosed occur in men over the age of 65? This is an ugly statistic. This type of cancer is the most prevalent non-skin cancer found in the US according to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Next to lung cancer, it is the leading reason for death in men due to cancer-related causes.

A man should get an annual exam every year for prostate cancer after the age of 50. This is probably the only way to catch it in the early stages. If your father or brother has contacted the prostate cancer disease then you should start the annual exam beginning at age 45.

There are typically no symptoms of prostate cancer. You need to get a rectal prostate exam by a medical doctor or have a blood PSA screening. Sometimes certain symptoms or signs that might indicate a prostate problem include: the frequency of urination, difficulty or pain in urination, difficulty in obtaining an erection, ejaculation pain, blood in the semen or urine, and possibly a certain amount of stiffness between the waist and knees.

Treatments exist for prostate cancer. You need to talk to your medical physican and explore the various options. Don't delay on getting treatment because the outcome of untreated prostate cancer is not a happy one.
